Before building my career supporting nonprofits, I began in finance at Lehman Brothers during the 2008 financial crisis. Living through that collapse taught me something critical: the challenges that nearly brought down Wall Street—cash flow, risk taking, and leadership—are the same ones nonprofits and small businesses face every day, but with far fewer resources. That experience shaped how I approach nonprofit finance today: disciplined cash management, proactive risk oversight, and leadership support that strengthens organizations before problems escalate. My name is Joel, and I am a Licensed Real Estate Broker and certified specialist in occupancy and tax credits with over two decades of experience in affordable housing operations. My career has evolved from leading property management teams in the nonprofit sector to overseeing residency operations for public housing initiatives.
